Jim Byrne rode her perfectly, he was patient, balancing his mount before allowing her to power home to run down race favourite Startsmeup by a long neck.

Milanesa is a big filly for her age and has taken a while to come into her own. She will now spell in Queensland with the aim of having her prepared for the Spring Carnival in Melbourne. Her main aim will be the Group 1 Thousand Guineas over 1600m at Caulfield.
