Flowerchild is set to resume in the Group 3 Research Stakes on Saturday.
Flowerchild is set to resume in the Research Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday. The Research Stakes is a Group 3 quality handicap for fillies and mares, 3yo and up, run over 1200m. After a spell and a faultless preparation, Paul Messara did not feel it necessary to trial this four-year-old mare. Being her first race back there is no doubt that she will improve for the run however if the tempo is genuine on Saturday she may just run a sneaky race.
Flowerchild is a three time winner from just seven starts. Last preparation she earned black type, placing in the Gosford Guineas beating home the likes of Rothesay. A good run in the Research stakes will see Flowerchild having having her second start in the Listed Nivison Stakes at Randwick on 25 September.
The Research stakes is named after former brilliant mare Research and is known to attract handy fillies and mares. Last year’s race was won by outstanding mare Hot Danish under the top weight of 61kg.
