Alverta has settled happily with her strapper Leah Gavranich into her new home at Geoff Wragg's stables in Newmarket where trainer Paul Messara and stable manager Alice Minter were re-united with her yesterday.

Paul will now manage the final stages of the six-year-old mare's preparation for her tilt at the Golden Jubilee S. G1 over six furlongs on the final day of Royal Ascot, Saturday 19 June.

Alice says, "Alverta had her first work out this morning. It was her first time on an uphill track and Leah said she really stretched out. We're only taking it easy at the moment as she is still recovering from her trip."

Interviewed on Sky Sports Radio today, Paul said, "She's bright and happy but she did lose a lot weight on the trip."

"We weighed her today and she's lost 40 kilos from when she stepped on the float at Arrowfield to head down to Melbourne and take the plane trip over. We need to get her back up, put roughly 15 to 20 kilos on her before she gets to raceday in three weeks.
