Stable Manager Alice Minter reported from Newmarket on Monday morning that Alverta continues her steady progress towards next Saturday's Golden Jubilee Stakes.

"Alverta now weighs 525 kg, continues to lick the feed bin and is truly settled, which is a relief. Paul would like another week before racing, but he is happy enough with her at this point in time.

"We head to Ascot tomorrow for the races which will give us an opportunity to inspect the course and its facilities before our raceday."

Meanwhile, back in Australia the Paul Messara team has been firing on all fronts in the care of Assistant Trainer Barry Wintle and his staff. Bouzy Rouge, Pyrography, Zabelka, Seeyamonday and Silver Spur have all won in the past two weeks, and Mic Mac produced a superlative effort for third, beaten a short half-head and a long head, in a heart-stopping BRC Stradbroke H. G1 on Saturday.
