The 2010 Filly by Prim purchased by Paul at the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale

2012 has started off very well for Paul Messara and the Arrowfield Training Centre.

On Wednesday 4th January at Doomben Glare led all the way to win comfortably. Glare (Redoute's Choice / Iflooxcouldkill) is a four year old gelding who has the enviable record of 4 wins, 5 seconds and 2 thirds from 13 starts. He has now gone for a well deserved rest in the paddock. We also had the talented Knox easily win again on Sunday at the Sunshine Coast by nearly 2 lengths. Knox (Hussonet / Opportunity) has now notched in his belt 3 wins and a 2nd out of 4 runs.

Paul is currently at the Magic Millions sale at the Gold Coast where he has already purchased 2 youngsters.

Our first purchase is a Bay Colt by the Group One winner and sire Testa Rossa from the Rock of Gibraltar mare, Gibraltar Range, a talented mare trained by Lee Freedman who easily won her first start however she then required a long break. She was retired after her 2nd start after leading all the way but failing to finish off. Gibraltar Range is from Hancora, a Listed stakes winner in France whose 3 named foals are all winners.

Our second purchase is a Bay Filly by successful Group One sire Dane Shadow from Prim. This is the first foal from the unraced Brief Truce mare Prim, who is a half sister to the Stakes placed mare Betrille. Prim is also the daughter of the good Group Two winner Grey Fille. Betrille is the dam of the Stakes winner Turban.

We are expecting a good year in 2012 and we have certainly started the year off very solidly.
